Detection and Tracking of Moving Vehicles in a Parking Lot

چکیده
An effective technique for detecting and tracking moving vehicles in a typical parking lot is implemented. The technique involves adaptive realtime background subtraction and shadow removal followed by a set of morphological operations in order to enhance the foreground mask. The mask is then used to draw a distinct bounding box over the moving vehicles in the original video sequence. The output video sequence is the original sequence with a bounding mask added around the moving vehicles. The technique is tested using a variety of video sequences from a typical parking lot. A simple GUI interface was also designed for easy manipulation of various control parameters.
